What data do we collect?

Re-Empathy collects the following data:

  • Personal identification information (name, address, email address, phone number, user-ID, password, profile picture)

  • Learning progress data when using our courses

  • Messages, forum posts, and other contributions when using the collaborative tools in the learning platform



How do we collect your data?

You directly provide Re-Empathy with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Register online for any of our services.

  • Voluntarily complete a customer survey, provide feedback or collaborate in any of our e-learning courses or via email.

  • Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies.

  • Contacting us by email or web form.


How will we use your data?

Re-Empathy collects your data so that we can:

  • Provide you access to our e-learning courses and manage your account.

  • Email you related to learning activities and project evaluation.

  • Generate a personal certificate at the end of the course.

Re-Empathy does NOT share personal information with any third-party organisation.


How do we store your data?

Re-Empathy securely stores your data at a certified data centre in Nürnberg, Germany: Hetzner Online GmbH.

Re-Empathy will keep your personal data for 5 years after the project's co-funding period has ended, according to the rules of the European Commission. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data by automatic data retention.


What are your data protection rights?

Re-Empathy would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access – You have the right to request Re-Empathy for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.

The right to rectification – You have the right to request that Re-Empathy correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request Re-Empathy to complete the information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure – You have the right to request that Re-Empathy erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that Re-Empathy restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to Re-Empathy’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to data portability – You have the right to request that Re-Empathy transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
